Glorious Red

Red-Flowers-Among-Green-Grass

Flowers among leafy green
Lips on a commercial screen
Color of a fire truck
Crest on a beautiful duck

Collar on a running dog
Homing light in a fog
Tomato hanging on a vine
Striped candy at Christmas time.

Our flag waving in the breeze
Hankie catching a sneeze
A joggers running shorts
Irritated; out of sorts

Hair ribbon on a tiny girl
Delicious cherry ice cream swirl
Cover of a favorite book
Bobber above a fishing hook

Painted skies at setting sun
Dragon fly on the run
Blush on a woman’s cheek
Jewels and treasures that we seek

Eyes that cried too many tears
Anger heavily laced with fears
Intensity of emotion
Overflowing with devotion

Passion of my Beloved’s heart
His Love eternally pouring out
Amazing color of His sacrifice
Paves my road to paradise

Red, glorious, full of life
Washed away my sin and strife
No color holds the joys of salvation
Like the red of Jesus’ crucifixion.
