City Garden
Not often is there city quietness
Really wonderful peace
No neighbor’s craziness
No noisy equipment blowing leaves
Traffic just a steady hum
No children’s laughs or screams
No music loud with drums
Or, skateboard kids in jeans
I hear the call of a crow
Another echoes back
Three sparrows sit in a row
Sweet song of birds no lack
City garden full of shade
Flowers in full bloom
Replete with butterfly parade
And bees that dart and zoom
The green always pleases me
The trees are a delight
But quiet adds a joyful glee
To all the lovely sight
Stillness of heart and mind
Gentle breeze tosses my hair
The presence of my God I find
Sitting in my garden chair.
