Trust

Fearful, wondering, what if's
Worry and rash actions
Too many relationship rifts
Why am I so anxious?

Cried out in despair
Why is my life a mess?
Holy Spirit answered with care
Your focus is not blessed

Look up! Take My hand
Walk humbly with Me
You've decided to be in command
But you're blind, unable to see

Never letting go
Fighting every change
Worn to the bone
Heart filled with rage

Yes, I'm relying too much on myself
Expecting others to rescue me
When only God Himself
Can truly make me happy

Trust! That's the word to embrace
Can't make it on my own
Must lean fully on God's Grace
And trust in Him alone

Hope

All was bleak
Despondent, darkness everywhere
Only heard depression speak
My pleas to God--total despair

Your kingdom is joy and peace
Why do I have none?
Crushing oppression doesn't cease
Where are the promises of your Son?

Hope--Where has it gone?
Faith is draining slowly away
My soul cries out, I'm undone
Lord God please help me pray

Then I hear
I love you, child
No need to fear
You're just tired

Start leaning on Me
Not your own strength or ability
I've already set you free
Rely on MY creativity

Mercy removed the sadness dart
Grace healed my fearful wound
Gladness filled my heart
Drenched me with gratitude

Chains of hopelessness break
Such liberty! I'm truly free!
I made a horrible mistake
My God would NEVER abandon me

I Wrote a Book!

Believe it or not, I wrote a book! It’s been years in the making, but finally I am holding a printed copy in my hands. It’s an inspirational fantasy. Of course, it has a couple of poems in it…couldn’t resist the opportunity to publish a poem or two. You can read more about it on my website at https://www.revcherylbirch.org/thatcher-trilogy or on my Amazon Author’s page.

It’s available for $9.99 on Kindle, Nook, and Apple iBooks. The paperback is sold online by most booksellers including Walmart Books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Alibris . Right now Walmart has a great price and free shipping as does AbeBooks.

Sign up for my monthly e-letter at https://www.revcherylbirch.org/contact

Next time, I will be back to posting poetry. I just wanted to share my exciting news about Thatcher with all of you.

Strengthening – Enduring

He stood before me
Tall and glowing
His love engulfed me
Flowing, flowing

Hand that touched me
Tender and assuring
His joy filled me
Strengthening, enduring

His smile washed me
Peace and serenity
It is well with me
Now and for eternity

Kiss of Pink Love

Barely a breeze
All is quiet
Morning has come
To my garden island

Green in abundance
Shadows and sun
Birds are stirring
Beetle on the run

Heaven so blue
Cloudless sky
Alone with my God
To Him I cry

"Heal my heart
Take away this pain
Such beauty around me
Tells me you can"

My eyes rest on flowers
They smile and wave
A kiss of pink love
From Jesus who saves

Such joy fills my soul
Heaviness vanished
It will all work out
Sadness is vanquished

Joy Drenches

And then I saw a hummingbird
Darting - Diving - Hovering
Interested in a camellia bud
Brilliant pink in green covering

Just beyond, geraniums stand
Red bursts of bloom
Seem to hold hands
Next to a purple lily plume

Spring winds toss the bushes
Trees still bare sway
Greenish buds on their branches
Promise many a warm day

How I love my garden
Such life and hope is there
Sitting amongst God's creation
Joy drenches my garden chair

In Troubles

storm-peace-grassland

Sharing a conversation of prayer I had with the Lord God a couple of weeks ago regarding the times we are experiencing. Today I felt like it was appropriate to post it as it is not only for me, it is for all who believe. May it bless you!

Give me peace, Lord
He answered: Yes
Give me hope and joy, Lord
He answered: Yes

Give me your best, Lord
He answered: Yes
Help me to please you, Lord
He answered: Yes

Help me to be holy, Lord
He answered: Yes
Give me a trusting heart, Lord
He answered: Yes

Help me to believe, Lord
He answered: Yes
Calm my fears, Lord
He answered: Yes

Never leave me, Lord
He answered: Yes
Always provide for me, Lord
He answered: Yes

Take away all troubles, Lord
He answered: NO!
In troubles you will seek Me
I will be there for you always

In troubles you will lean on Me
I will hold you up
In troubles you will open your heart
I will transform you

In troubles you will learn humility
I will strengthen you and lift you up
In troubles you will learn from Me
I will teach you

In troubles you will seek My Heart
I will make you My vessel of charity and love
You will be mine and I will be yours
Many will know Me through you

Isolation Meditation

sunflower-2785420_1280

Today is not what I chose
Yet I write joy with my pen
Despite the gloom of our woes
God’s grace sparkles like a gem

The sun comes up and sets
The sky is still blue
We have air to breathe, flowers, and pets
A roof, clothing, and food too

His aim is to take care of us
Draw us close in love
So, turn to Him in humbleness
Receive Peace from above

Let thankfulness rule your heart
Not fear or selfishness
Waste no thought on what seems lost
Rejoice in God; In Him rest

Aging One

IMG_20200416_105133015_HDR

While I was in my garden I started thinking about and praying for all of us who are aging and/or not well during this very trying time and this poem of encouragement poured into my heart. May it bless you!

What used to be red
Now rusty orange
Leaning on shed
Looking forlorn

Wooden handles gray
Weathered and worn
Stuck in weedy fray
Front wheel torn

Once useful and new
Now broken and spent
Like a life view
On getting old and bent

Good News abounds
New wheel, some paint
Wheel barrow rebounds
Was junk, now ain’t

No matter your age
Or physical condition
God’s promise fills your page
With opportunity and provision

So take heart aging one
He’s got plans for you
Cling fast to His Son
Your life He will renew!

Justice is His Name

Justice.jpg

He’s a lover of righteousness
Justice is His Name
He defends the poor and fatherless
Mercy is His fame

The work of His hand is verity
His judgments and precepts are sure
He rules with love and charity
His ways are holy and pure

The evil one He vanquishes
The poor and the needy relieved
Heaviness of heart vanishes
In His presence oppression flees

Come to the One who is all Truth
Adventurous journey awaits
He is of magnificent worth
As Joy in our heart He creates
