In the still of the morning, this poem filled my heart....
The wonders of quiet Stillness profound Held by my Savior Angels all around Peace washes me Assurance takes over Worry desolves Love is my cover Joy is my portion As serenity abides Darkness is vanquished In Christ I'm alive!

Fearful, wondering, what if's Worry and rash actions Too many relationship rifts Why am I so anxious? Cried out in despair Why is my life a mess? Holy Spirit answered with care Your focus is not blessed Look up! Take My hand Walk humbly with Me You've decided to be in command But you're blind, unable to see Never letting go Fighting every change Worn to the bone Heart filled with rage Yes, I'm relying too much on myself Expecting others to rescue me When only God Himself Can truly make me happy Trust! All was bleak Despondent, darkness everywhere Only heard depression speak My pleas to God--total despair Your kingdom is joy and peace Why do I have none? Crushing oppression doesn't cease Where are the promises of your Son? Hope--Where has it gone? Faith is draining slowly away My soul cries out, I'm undone Lord God please help me pray Then I hear I love you, child No need to fear You're just tired Start leaning on Me Not your own strength or ability I've already set you free Rely on MY creativity Mercy removed the sadness dart Grace healed my fearful wound Gladness filled my heart Drenched me with gratitude Chains of hopelessness break Such liberty! He stood before me Tall and glowing His love engulfed me Flowing, flowing Hand that touched me Tender and assuring His joy filled me Strengthening, enduring His smile washed me Peace and serenity It is well with me Now and for eternity

Barely a breeze All is quiet Morning has come To my garden island Green in abundance Shadows and sun Birds are stirring Beetle on the run Heaven so blue Cloudless sky Alone with my God To Him I cry "Heal my heart Take away this pain Such beauty around me Tells me you can" My eyes rest on flowers They smile and wave A kiss of pink love From Jesus who saves Such joy fills my soul Heaviness vanished It will all work out Sadness is vanquished Copyright 2022 Cheryl S. And then I saw a hummingbird Darting - Diving - Hovering Interested in a camellia bud Brilliant pink in green covering Just beyond, geraniums stand Red bursts of bloom Seem to hold hands Next to a purple lily plume Spring winds toss the bushes Trees still bare sway Greenish buds on their branches Promise many a warm day How I love my garden Such life and hope is there Sitting amongst God's creation Joy drenches my garden chair Copyright 2021 Cheryl S. Flower joy Red and yellow Blue and lilac Lovely and mellow
Peachy begonias Smile in the sun White roses My heart they've won
Lantana oh so purple Oleander shock of pink Petunias syrupy sweet Pansies bob and wink
Busy bees and butterflies Hop from bloom to bloom Vinca's stand up tall Marigolds a colorful plume
Such a show of color Painted by our God On a green background With His glorious rod

It’s morning
Sunrise was golden peach
Still I’m frowning
Incessant pain’s no treat
Though days are lovely
They are hard
Surrounded by beauty
Can’t enjoy it, I’m marred
Shed lots of tears
Begged God for healing
Lived in fears
Emotions reeling
It’s hard to trust
That God has a plan
But, trust Him I must
So little help from man
Another day dawn
Hope on the horizon
He’s keeping me strong
My heart beats on
Out of the blue
Peace encompassed me
Jesus’ love sure and true
Poured out bountifully
I won’t give up
Nor will I give in
My God holds me up
In HIM I win!

Could the sky be more blue?
It’s so clear today
Could the flowers be a more lovely hue?
They are at their peak today
All the greens seem even more so
Verdant boughs with fruit
Plump lemons swing to and fro
Cherries wear a bright red suit
Palm tree’s hands reach up high
As if to praise our King of kings
Thanking Him with each sway and sigh
While a bird to His glory sings
This garden visit lifts my soul
With the palms and birds I praise
Lord Jesus makes me whole
To Him my hands I raise!
