A Prayer

Calm me
Give me peace
Speak to me
I need release

Let me hear
Touch my heart
Take all fear
How great thou art!

I want to be real
And humble too
Feel what You feel
Relying on You

Longing in my soul

I hunger for something solid
A touch that soothes my soul
Genuine Presence of God
That fills up this “heart-hole”

Sure, I have salvation
My Savior is Everything
Yes, I have Spirit revelation
Joy of Him makes me sing

Still, there must be more than this
From a God so mighty and strong
He’s loving and kind; I’m His
Yet my soul yearns all day long

Give me more sense of You
Show me Your perfect ways
Pour out sovereignly; Do!
Lest I faint in these desolate days

For nothing else satisfies
This hunger for “more You” I feel
My longing constantly intensifies
Please show me daily You are real!

A Perfect Spring Day

Azaleas full bloom
Geraniums wind-dance
Bees soar and zoom
Small trees seem to prance

Spring winds so gusty
Send kites to flight
Squeaking gate, old, rusty
Bangs the fence in a fight

Sun warms my face
Waltzing pines put on a show
Two jays in a race
Cross sky-blue chasing a crow

Flowers everywhere
A colorful rainbow
Trees green beyond compare
I’m happy; heart aglow

Everything’s brand new
What looked dead, now alive
Butterfly visits on cue
A day to celebrate, not just survive

God loves us in every way
He gives us lovely gifts
Like a perfect Spring day
As our weary hearts He lifts

Warm respite

Bare tree

A warm respite
In the midst of winter cold
The day brightly lit
Sky clear, blue and bold

Sitting on my barren deck
Tiny flowers peeking forth
Gentle breeze across my neck
Grass showing some new growth

A promise of Spring to come
But the days are still short
Sun too soon finds its western home
Shivers end my brief resort

Father God smiling
Such a lovely way
Sent my spirit flying
With a perfect glorious day

Joy is His Game

Been feeling down for days
Self pity thick and black
Sadness creeping by says
All you’ll ever have is lack

But in me dwells a Champion
Jesus is His name
I’m asking a second opinion
Found that JOY is His game

No matter life’s circumstance
There’s Hope found in Christ
Who I am is not happenstance
My future is strong and Bright!

My Morning Bliss

Whispering morning
Quiet, lovely.
Barely sounding,
Wind blows softly.

Sparrow twitters
Sweet melody.
Dawn glitters
Sunlight splendidly.

Mind calm
Heart at rest.
Reading a Psalm
Receiving God’s best.

Joy overflow
Strength renewed.
The world aglow
His glory revealed.

Praying aloud.
Heavenly kiss.
Presence of God.

My morning bliss!

Never Give Up

Never give up, no never!
There is always hope in Christ Jesus.
Never give up, no never!
From trial and pain He has saved us.

Trust and believe, do it daily.
Crooked places are made straight.
Trust and believe, do it daily.
Darkness flees, fears abate.

Look to heaven, receive God’s love.
Healing balm will pour out to you.
Look to heaven, receive God’s love.
All that you are will be made new.

Never give up, no never!
Get up – Awaken – Get going!
Never give up, no never
Your divine destiny is glowing.

A smell; a fragrance in the air
A sense, something on its way
A feeling in my bones
A distant sound, barely heard

Pitter pat, pitter pat
A clink, a clang
Tap, tap, tap
Pitter pat, pitter pat

Tires on wet pavement
Rushing winds
Drumming on roof tops
Grass glistening green Read more…

Autumn stepped out of summer

Pumpkins, squash, dried corn
Yellow leaves, red and orange
Windy blustery days
Walking through a corn maze

Flowers fading, some brown
Fields a golden crown
Trees once lush now bare
Sparrows don’t seem to care Read more…
