He IS Christmas

Red, lovely red, everywhere
Complimented by green, silver and gold
The colors of the Christ Child fair
His destiny displayed; His story told

One so innocent, a sweet delight
Easy to love and embrace
The silver of His star shines bright
Golden One, God’s only Son of grace

Refreshing green, His healing joy
He walked the earth in holiness
Gladly being His Father’s envoy
Giving His all, strength and kindness

Red, amazing red so powerful
His blood shed for us
Sacrifice magnificent and wonderful
Worship Him! For HE IS Christmas!

A Gift From Heaven

Gerard_van_Honthorst_-_Adoration_of_the_Shepherds_(1622)

A tear falls down my cheek
At the thought of Jesus small and meek
Held in Mary’s loving arms
Joseph close, standing guard

Let there be Light, God’s living Word
Born in a stable, changed the world
Such sacrifice hard to believe
A Gift from Heaven we can receive

Yes, Christmas is all about HIM
Who came from the Father to take our sin
Not a tiny babe anymore
He’s King of Kings and Lord of Lords

Great Great Harvest

harvest sun

I see horse and riders
Sparkling clouds in the air
Golden dust of glory
Angels strong; everywhere

I see a vast army
Hearts open and bare
Marked by their Lord Jesus
Holy, pure and fair

In them nothing hidden
Honor and truth their shield
Lifting high His banner
Reaping His field

Love and kindness pouring forth
Healing dripping from their hands
Moving upon the Wind
Freeing captives from their bands

It’s a day of rejoicing
As the riders circle the earth
To the north, south, east and west
The Presence of God pouring forth

Look up to the Heavens
We’re standing on the edge of time
The Father’s plans culminating
He shouts: The earth is Mine! The earth is Mine!

The earth responds rejoicing
More riders are released
Billions see Jesus’ majesty
And bow down at His feet

It’s the great great harvest
You are His harvest hand
Step out in boldness
He’s healing our land!

Mary’s Joy

christmas-nativity-painting

A Light
So bright!
Touched earth
Golden worth

Just a babe
Laying in hay
Destiny profound
Angels all around

Shepherd’s astounded
Goodwill abounded
Peace reigned
Holiness gained

Mary’s joy
Precious boy
Magi’s gifts
Gold, myrrh, frankincense

Born to save
His all He gave
Changed the world
Love unfurled

This night glorious
Honors His righteousness
Rejoicing we celebrate
He opened Heaven’s gate!

City Garden

th

Not often is there city quietness
Really wonderful peace
No neighbor’s craziness
No noisy equipment blowing leaves

Traffic just a steady hum
No children’s laughs or screams
No music loud with drums
Or, skateboard kids in jeans

I hear the call of a crow
Another echoes back
Three sparrows sit in a row
Sweet song of birds no lack

City garden full of shade
Flowers in full bloom
Replete with butterfly parade
And bees that dart and zoom

The green always pleases me
The trees are a delight
But quiet adds a joyful glee
To all the lovely sight

Stillness of heart and mind
Gentle breeze tosses my hair
The presence of my God I find
Sitting in my garden chair.

Christ Born in our Lives

Nativity-Scene

Such delight
The thought of Him
That Holy night
Love’s glorious sight

His Star shone bright
Victory already won
Darkness became Light
He’s God’s own Son

Two thousands years hence
His light still shines
It can never be quenched
Christ born in our lives

Love one another
As He has loved you
We are sister and brother
Joined in Him and each other

Christmas Blessings,

Reminded tonight by a clear starry sky of this Christmas poem from 2012.

Star!
Magnificent and bright.

Angels!
Glorious sight.

Shepherds!
Surprized fright.

Peace!
Joyful, Heaven’s Delight.

Manger!
Babe, wrapped tight.

Promise!
Savior. Love’s Light.

A Note from Heaven about Christmas

This poem from 2012 kept coming to my mind this week…

Cheryl Birch

Nativity

It’s not the caroling
It’s the peace heralding

It’s not the presents
It’s My Presence

It’s not the stockings
It’s My Good Tidings

It’s not the parties
It’s the heart ties

It’s not the church steeple
It’s the unity of My people

It’s not the festivity
It’s the celebration of the Nativity

It’s not Santa and reindeer fun
It’s joy and salvation in My Son

It’s not the awe of lights on a tree
It’s lifting up your voice and worshipping Me!
