Come to the well of Healing

kneeling_in_prayer

World filled with fear and strife
Many Christians are speaking doom
But, my eyes are fixed on Jesus
And His joy makes my heart bloom

I’m accused of being a Pollyanna
My head, they say, is in the sand
But,they’re not seeing the greatness of God
They’re looking to man’s ways instead

God said not to look at this world
His love says evil won’t win
Great hope is found in His heart
When we walk in the Spirit with Him

His Promise is life abundant
“Peace I give you…” He has spoken
Religious folks have forgotten
Every yoke of oppression is broken.

Come to the well of healing
His name is Jesus Christ
No church rules or dogma needed
Draw from His sacrifice

Freedom and assurance are yours
As part of Jesus’ team
There’s no promise He will withhold
As upon Him you fully lean!

Getting Healthy for God’s Service

food-Healthy-Eating-1080x1920

Every January it seems that attention is turned to holiday overeating and waistlines. There are many articles available on wordpress.com and all over the internet on how to get fit. Yet, still too many of us are struggling with weight, poor eating habits and lack of exercise. I am right there with you dusting my elliptical but rarely getting on it. Then in prayer I heard from the Lord: “I need you stronger for what is to come.” Now, please know I did not at all feel this meant I needed to be strong for coming disaster. Just the opposite, it came to me that in order to walk in the fullness of the power of the Lord Jesus Christ and help people, I need to take care of this temple! So, I will be taking more walks, using my elliptical and eating healthy with a goal that is eternal. Not to lose weight and look better in my jeans or swimsuit, but so that I can be strong in the Lord and the power of His might physically as well as spiritually.

My resolution is to know Him more, to know His heart and love for me and others. Part of His love is to have us healthy and prospering physically even as our soul prospers. With that in mind, I will be adding recipes and other healthy tips to my pages – check out the recipes heading on the side column.

Here are the recipes I have posted in the past Persimmon Salsa and Cheryl’s Sweet Potato Hash and check out the newest one Chicken Jambalaya
I’m just getting started on this section, much more to come.

New Year Blessing of wholeness, strength, joy, and health!
Rev. Cheryl
