My Morning Bliss

IMG_20150312_103847_100

Whispering morning
Quiet, lovely.
Barely sounding,
Wind blows softly.

Sparrow twitters
Sweet melody.
Dawn glitters
Sunlight splendidly.

Mind calm
Heart at rest.
Reading a Psalm
Receiving God’s best.

Joy overflow
Strength renewed.
The world aglow
His glory revealed.

Praying aloud.
Heavenly kiss.
Presence of God.

My morning bliss!

Spring!

tulips-field1

Fresh air
Breezy trees
Sound of chimes
Buzzing bees

Smell of grass
Flower buds
Errant fly
Lots of bugs

Tiny leaves
Electric green
Birds sing
Robins seen

Warm sun
Kites up high
Laughter echoes
Clear sky

Tulip blooms
Fields of clover
God smiles
Winter’s over!

I Give Up Lord

godsgrace

Doing it my own way,
Mantra of our present day,
Surely hasn’t worked for me;
Messes up life; causes calamity.

Even from some church leaders mouths
Got advice that’s not always sound.
Steps 1 through 7 rarely work,
Feel good programs produce no fruit.

Went to seminars and classes galore
They help some, but I always want more.
None of it produces more love or power.
There’s something wrong; no Holy Ghost shower.

Then I read John chapter six.
The people wanted a “their way” fix.
Jesus said NO to religious effort by men.
Want miracles? Know, Believe, the One the Father sent.

Oh Wow! I give up, Lord!
Humbly I lean on Your Word.
Bowing down, receiving mercy.
Not my strength, but YOURS eternally!

That’s how love and power flows
Seeking Him and all He knows.
Resting in His arms by faith.
Doing life in amazing grace!

Getting Healthy for God’s Service

food-Healthy-Eating-1080x1920

Every January it seems that attention is turned to holiday overeating and waistlines. There are many articles available on wordpress.com and all over the internet on how to get fit. Yet, still too many of us are struggling with weight, poor eating habits and lack of exercise. I am right there with you dusting my elliptical but rarely getting on it. Then in prayer I heard from the Lord: “I need you stronger for what is to come.” Now, please know I did not at all feel this meant I needed to be strong for coming disaster. Just the opposite, it came to me that in order to walk in the fullness of the power of the Lord Jesus Christ and help people, I need to take care of this temple! So, I will be taking more walks, using my elliptical and eating healthy with a goal that is eternal. Not to lose weight and look better in my jeans or swimsuit, but so that I can be strong in the Lord and the power of His might physically as well as spiritually.

My resolution is to know Him more, to know His heart and love for me and others. Part of His love is to have us healthy and prospering physically even as our soul prospers. With that in mind, I will be adding recipes and other healthy tips to my pages – check out the recipes heading on the side column.

Here are the recipes I have posted in the past Persimmon Salsa and Cheryl’s Sweet Potato Hash and check out the newest one Chicken Jambalaya
I’m just getting started on this section, much more to come.

New Year Blessing of wholeness, strength, joy, and health!

Garden Symphony

0502111328a

Distant laughter.
Cat’s plaintiff cry
Bird song. Bee’s buzz.
Rustling of trees near by.

Faint sounds of traffic.
A truck? A bus?
Something in the wind slapping.
Crow making a fuss.

Quiet for a moment.
Sudden loud roar.
Helicopter overhead.
Rush of wind slams a door.

Upset dog barking.
Whoosh, dive bombing fly.
Flowers moving softly.
Geese honking in the sky.

Hum of machinery.
Child happily singing.
Dried leaf skidding on concrete.
Old branches creaking.

The joys of my garden.
The sounds of life.
A shelter of peace,
Retreat from strife.

Thank you, My God, for this joyous symphony.
I feel like You made it just for me!

Crystal Sea

CrystalSea

Floating in a crystal sea
My God and me, my God and me!
No worries or cares, I am free.
Wonderful joy in the crystal sea.

Laughing, jumping, splashing in Grace.
I see His face! I see His face!
Glory billows like delicate lace.
Overwhelming love, splashing in Grace.

Quiet awe, hush; my heart aglow
He floods my soul, holiness floods my soul.
His touch vanquishes all pain and woe.
Peace astounding! My heart aglow!

Floating in a crystal sea
My God and me, my God and me.
There is no other, Jesus is the key!
His Heart is my crystal sea.

I Have Roses for You

rose with dew

I have roses for you.
Here in My Hand are lovely blooms.
The petals are dripping with dew.
The fragrance fills your heart’s rooms.

Soft colors to please your eyes.
Gentle breezes to cool and refresh.
Clouds dancing in crystal blue skies.
Take from My Hand roses of rest.

I have Roses for you from above.
With their fragrant oil you are sealed.
Step into chambers filled with My Love.
Take this gift and be healed.

In the Middle of Anguish is Gold

Golden%20Clouds%20at%20Sunrise%2025

Clouds, dark clouds, encase my heart.
Such sadness gloves my soul.
Loss pierces me like a dart
Wrenching, taking emotional toll.

Everywhere I turn seems gray.
All sunshine fled in an instant.
Now weeping encompasses my day.
Joy seems far off, so distant.

Wet pillow of tears, wiping my face.
Deep sigh. Barely slept again.
Praying, head in hands; suddenly feel an embrace.
Strength infuses me easing the pain.

Wings of peace mount up guard.
Such amazing comfort; strong and bold;
In Jesus’ hands, love scarred.
In the middle of anguish is found gold.

Slowly, at first, then totally free,
With help pouring out of heaven,
I get up each day, perfect love I see.
It pours out from the Father to strengthen.

Sunny heart, unexpected, blazing fire breaks forth!
No clouds! No doubts! No sadness!
Healing completed, now I daily rejoice
And share with others His gladness!

Focus

Holy_Bible_age_and_texture

Wondering mind; can’t concentrate.
Good grief, how’d I ever get this way?
Flitting thoughts, uneasiness; what a state!
Is there no place of rest today?

Try to settle, afghan on my lap.
Bible open and tea on my table.
Deep breath. Closed eyes. Pretended nap.
Suddenly hear: Fear not! In Me you are able.

Eyes open, focus on God’s Holy word.
It says “Be strong and of good courage.”
Peace pours forth from His mighty sword.
Now, I wonder why I had been worried!
