Hope

All was bleak
Despondent, darkness everywhere
Only heard depression speak
My pleas to God--total despair

Your kingdom is joy and peace
Why do I have none?
Crushing oppression doesn't cease
Where are the promises of your Son?

Hope--Where has it gone?
Faith is draining slowly away
My soul cries out, I'm undone
Lord God please help me pray

Then I hear
I love you, child
No need to fear
You're just tired

Start leaning on Me
Not your own strength or ability
I've already set you free
Rely on MY creativity

Mercy removed the sadness dart
Grace healed my fearful wound
Gladness filled my heart
Drenched me with gratitude

Chains of hopelessness break
Such liberty! I'm truly free!
I made a horrible mistake
My God would NEVER abandon me

Door of Heaven

Gate of Heaven clouds

I know it is past Holy Week now, but what Jesus did for us on the cross, His death, resurrection, and ascension are still so much on my heart! This poem is to give Him the honor He is due because, for us who believe, every day is Resurrection Sunday!!

With great joy He gave His life
He received what was your due
His blood shed for sin and strife
He’s all love and mercy too

Rejoice this day in His Resurrection
Receive His free gift of peace
If you ask, He grants Salvation
Bow your soul at His feet

Dance and sing in celebration
What He promises is true
Jesus’ heart, the door of heaven
He hold opens just for you!

Justice is His Name

Justice.jpg

He’s a lover of righteousness
Justice is His Name
He defends the poor and fatherless
Mercy is His fame

The work of His hand is verity
His judgments and precepts are sure
He rules with love and charity
His ways are holy and pure

The evil one He vanquishes
The poor and the needy relieved
Heaviness of heart vanishes
In His presence oppression flees

Come to the One who is all Truth
Adventurous journey awaits
He is of magnificent worth
As Joy in our heart He creates

Golden Rain

Such a beautiful face
Drenched with forgiving grace
Eyes dripping with love
Compassion holds me like a glove

A vision beyond this earth
He’s of magnificent worth
Gentle yet bold; full of power
He’s my shelter and strong tower

All creation bows in reverence
Perfect holiness is His countenance
Wonders of mercy pour out to me
I’m surrounded by a peace-filled sea

How I long to stay here all day
But Life interrupts in a jolting way
Tomorrow I’ll join Him once again
In glorious moments of golden rain

Mercy’s Waters

water-flowing

How blessed I am
Despite all circumstance,
Father God loves me intensely.
I am not here by happenstance!

Gratitude overwhelms my heart.
I have the Light which is Life.
Goodness and joy follow me.
Peace guards my mind; vanquishes strife.

Nothing of this world is my home.
I have heavenly manna to eat.
Blessings pour out to me daily.
He’s a bright lamp; guide to my feet.

My dwelling is around His throne
Praising Him with the Angels.
His Presence overwhelms the earth
Cares of this world fall like veils.

Love, such love ever bounding
It’s all that really matters.
Knowing Him is simply astounding,
His Grace and Mercy’s refreshing waters!

Selfless Place

godsgrace

How do I get out of my own way?
God has promised me so much.
I believe everything He has to say.
Yet, His amazing power I have yet to touch.

Salvation, healing, and deliverance flow.
My faith is high and His mercy is sure.
Still, there is a place that I long to go
Where I’ve stepped aside and His Presence is pure.

Take me, O Lord, to that selfless place.
Whatever it takes, I want to get there.
Total reliance on your love and grace
So that people know You’re alive and care!
