In Him, I Win

goldenpeachsunrise

It’s morning
Sunrise was golden peach
Still I’m frowning
Incessant pain’s no treat

Though days are lovely
They are hard
Surrounded by beauty
Can’t enjoy it, I’m marred

Shed lots of tears
Begged God for healing
Lived in fears
Emotions reeling

It’s hard to trust
That God has a plan
But, trust Him I must
So little help from man

Another day dawn
Hope on the horizon
He’s keeping me strong
My heart beats on

Out of the blue
Peace encompassed me
Jesus’ love sure and true
Poured out bountifully

I won’t give up
Nor will I give in
My God holds me up
In HIM I win!

Glorious Day

clouds-gray and blue

Sitting in my garden
Comfy chair, alone
Cup of tea started
Nice to be at home

Sunny, even hot
Then clouds roll in
Makes a chilly spot
Wind chimes spin

Branches bounce
Flowers dance
Bird calls once
Shrubs sway and prance

Gray and blue fight it out
Breeze cold strong but dies
Go inside or sit in doubt?
Can’t tell by the skies

Suddenly sun wins
Glorious Day!
Praise God, Praise Him
I think I’ll stay!

Red Rock

Red_Rock_Canyon

Poem inspired by scenery on a recent drive through the Las Vegas Valley

Mountains red and jagged
Jutting from the desert floor
Surrounded by stark beauty
Joshua trees, rocks, cacti galore

Can’t take my eyes away
Each peak a work of art
Carved out by the hand of God
Awe and joy fill my heart!

In Troubles

storm-peace-grassland

Sharing a conversation of prayer I had with the Lord God a couple of weeks ago regarding the times we are experiencing. Today I felt like it was appropriate to post it as it is not only for me, it is for all who believe. May it bless you!

Give me peace, Lord
He answered: Yes
Give me hope and joy, Lord
He answered: Yes

Give me your best, Lord
He answered: Yes
Help me to please you, Lord
He answered: Yes

Help me to be holy, Lord
He answered: Yes
Give me a trusting heart, Lord
He answered: Yes

Help me to believe, Lord
He answered: Yes
Calm my fears, Lord
He answered: Yes

Never leave me, Lord
He answered: Yes
Always provide for me, Lord
He answered: Yes

Take away all troubles, Lord
He answered: NO!
In troubles you will seek Me
I will be there for you always

In troubles you will lean on Me
I will hold you up
In troubles you will open your heart
I will transform you

In troubles you will learn humility
I will strengthen you and lift you up
In troubles you will learn from Me
I will teach you

In troubles you will seek My Heart
I will make you My vessel of charity and love
You will be mine and I will be yours
Many will know Me through you

Isolation Meditation

sunflower-2785420_1280

Today is not what I chose
Yet I write joy with my pen
Despite the gloom of our woes
God’s grace sparkles like a gem

The sun comes up and sets
The sky is still blue
We have air to breathe, flowers, and pets
A roof, clothing, and food too

His aim is to take care of us
Draw us close in love
So, turn to Him in humbleness
Receive Peace from above

Let thankfulness rule your heart
Not fear or selfishness
Waste no thought on what seems lost
Rejoice in God; In Him rest

From my Garden Chair

Aerial dispute
Raucous bird racket
Morning dove coo
Fly by yellow jacket

Peace returns
Grosbeak distant song
Hummingbird churns
Wind blows strong

Tiny bug crawls by
Lizard on the run
Sparrow flies the sky
Sun sure feels warm

No day is boring
In my garden retreat
My Joy is soaring
As I sit at Jesus’ feet

Aging One

IMG_20200416_105133015_HDR

While I was in my garden I started thinking about and praying for all of us who are aging and/or not well during this very trying time and this poem of encouragement poured into my heart. May it bless you!

What used to be red
Now rusty orange
Leaning on shed
Looking forlorn

Wooden handles gray
Weathered and worn
Stuck in weedy fray
Front wheel torn

Once useful and new
Now broken and spent
Like a life view
On getting old and bent

Good News abounds
New wheel, some paint
Wheel barrow rebounds
Was junk, now ain’t

No matter your age
Or physical condition
God’s promise fills your page
With opportunity and provision

So take heart aging one
He’s got plans for you
Cling fast to His Son
Your life He will renew!

Leafless

White bark, dead flowers
Bare branches crisscross the sky
Lacy leafless woven tapestry
Red headed bird flies by

Sweet songs catch my ears
What seemed dead is alive
Feathered chorus serenades
Then they quickly hide

Thank You Lord for the treasure
Of Your amazing creation
Lifts my heart with praises
It’s like a mini-vacation!

New Day Dawn

Though life is challenging right now, our God is still blessing us with the beauty of His creation. Today as I woke up I marveled at the wonders of His sunshine invading my room and wrote this poem. Praying that it blesses you and reminds you to thank God for every gift He gives us to help us through this difficult time worldwide…

Light then shadows
Blinking and sparkles
Shapes wall dancing
Sunshine playing

Warmth invades
Peeking through shades
Morning has come
New day dawn

Lifted my eyes
Clear blue skies
What beautiful view
Lord God, thank you!

Season of Heavenly Treasure

Angry leaves fight the wind
Many lose the battle
Ripped from their branch
They sail, swirl, and rattle

Nonetheless, there’s great beauty
As they gather on the ground
Colorful array of shapes
Rusty orange, yellow and brown

The trees sway back and forth
Trying to hold onto to summer
But, autumn has taken hold
Green gives way to umber

All nature offers God resplendent glory
Boldly reflecting His pleasure
Golden transformation everywhere
Season of heavenly treasure
