Key West

Breeze tossing my hair to and fro
Warm then just a bit cool
Clouds part forsaking their gray tint
Sun brilliant; makes me squint

Crash! A wave breaks suddenly
Roaring tidal pool spinning violently
Quiet surprise then Crash again
Spray cold drops splatter my skin

Rooster crows a robust cry
Hen scratches and pecks nearby
Cooing mourning doves a pair
Iguana bright green runs past my chair

Voices muffled by the surf
Scream! A child splashing playing nurf
Palms playfully dance and sway
Ocean, endless blue; perfect day!

Thankful, praising God aloud
Creation loveliness all around
Sunset beauty such joy and peace
Praying: Lord, bless this place

Secluded Place

Oceanside walk
Rushing sound
Waves talk
Crashing all around

Sea birds shouting
Insects buzz
Sandpipers scouting
Gulls fuss

Secluded place
All alone
Suddenly peaceful
Watching white sea foam

Mind clears
Troubles depart
God overwhelms
Joyful heart

Singing praises
Fall to the sand
Hands lift praises
Simply can’t stand

Worship resounding
With nature’s symphony
Love abounding
Such glory I see

Ocean Day

Hazy sky
Bits of blue
Sea gull cry
Amazing view

Crashing waves
Jagged rocks
Watery caves
Shell strewn spots

Emerald grass
Yellow flowers sway
Violet mass
Ocean gray

Birds twitter
Seals bark
Boardwalk clatter
Squirrels dart

Sandy beach
Foaming swells
Driftwood bleached
Pelican yells

Air so fresh
Wind cool
Kelp mesh
Tidal pool

Sandy cliffs
Creviced gold
Pines stiff
Crooked, old

Rippling glitter
Sun bursts through
Radiant splendor
Water turns blue

Reflecting Creator
His majesty
Wondrous beauty
He made for you and me!
